What You Will Do:

The Director of Operations is held responsible in managing and developing the Cafe & Culinary operations for all Erewhon locations that include, but are not limited to the following duties:


  • Implements and executes daily quality process for stores including goal communication, staff member improvement, health & sanitation, sales, COGs and labor expense in compliance with standards of product and performance. 

  • Develops on-going professional development and training programs for food production, service and staff members. 

  • Holds the Senior Regional Manager accountable for day-to-day café operations, café manager development and achieving daily sales. 

  • Ensures all required licenses, permits, contracts, insurance inspections, are in proper order, with the assistance of legal counsel and Controller/CFO.


  • Develops budget to deliver profit and service goals, as well as Executive expectations

  • Manages the budgeting, forecasting, training, motivation and staffing of the Café. 

  • Identifies, analyzes, and implements opportunities for increased revenues and expense savings.

  • Performs monthly analysis and interpretation of revenue, demand generators, financial reporting, and management data regularly to assess the performance of stores and where necessary evolve short and long-term strategies to enhance performance.

Leadership & Team Building

  • Develops and mentors Senior Regional Manager by conducting weekly Operations meetings, providing management with new and efficient process & protocols, industry trends, and relevant training to increase knowledge & profitability efforts. 

  • Promotes a cooperative work climate, maximizing productivity and morale. Uses engagement strategies to recognize, motivate and celebrate individuals and teams delivering outstanding performance throughout store location.

  • Works closely with the Culinary Executive Team in establishing and monitoring policies and guidelines in the day-to-day operation of the Stores to ensure profitability and consistency. Solves through initiative and reasoned judgments problems of detail that come up in the course of the work.

  • Effectively provides daily reports to the Executive Culinary Team to ensure clear communication of all operations and its functions. 

  • The Director of Operations schedule is expected to meet the 5-6 work week, onsite in the operations 2-3 days per store each week reporting up to Corporate Executive Chef & Culinary Operations Executive Chef.

What You Will Bring:

  • 7-10 years’ experience in managing a high-volume operation.

  • Candidate must be an analytical thinker, great with numbers and able to make quick decisions and adjust to consistent change in daily routine well. Budgeting, forecasting, sales required.

  • Thorough understanding of Food & Beverage industry trends and other factors affecting markets and submarkets and their impact on the portfolio including a strong understanding of demographics, supply and demand generators, revenue management, sales process and yield strategies to maximize top-line performance.

  • Candidate must be a forward and proactive thinker able see when changes are required and make them happen in a timeless and seamless manner. Excellent communication, leadership and interpersonal skills required. Proven ability to lead and develop a team.

  • Food Handler’s Manager Certificate.
